About Us
We would like for you to take a moment or two to explore our website. We are located in the city of Pevely at 8943 Commercial Blvd. We are the only food and clothing distribution site to serve all of Jefferson County, Missouri. Our clients come from all over the county to find help feeding and clothing their families. We give as we have been given and we are open five days each week from 9:30 to 2:30 pm. We have not and will not consider selling any items donated to us for the needy. We will only send our newsletter to those who request it. We never buy or sell our mailing list. While we do not provide overnight housing for the homeless, we do have information from other facilities that we can provide as a referral.
We are a 501(c)(3) organization. All Contributions are tax deductible.
Our History
Jefferson County Rescue Mission is located in Pevely, MO. Jefferson County is just to the south of St. Louis County and the City of St. Louis, MO. Much of the southern and western part of Jefferson County is rural while the northern part is basically a suburb of Saint Louis.
Our History
Jefferson County Rescue Mission was founded in 1978 by Mike and Louise Sardo, They had seen a need for a rescue mission ministry in Jefferson County. The closest ministry similar to what they felt was needed was thirty-five miles away. After much prayer and consulting with area pastors, the Sardos opened their home to house men who needed help and hope. Bro. Mike has since gone home to heaven, but Miss Louise Sardo at age 94 continues to volunteer at the Rescue Mission five days each week. Despite being born blind, Mrs. Sardo has a special ability to see into the hearts of folk in need. While we no longer are able to house people we still distribute food and clothing to anyone in Jefferson County, MO who has a need.
